Festival of Innovation

Come along to the first ever Festival of Innovation at Alder Hey!

On Friday 21st June, for one day only, Innovation will be taking over the whole of the ground floor of the amazing new Speakman Building to showcase Innovation both internally within the Trust but also externally with some of our great Innovation partners.

From 10am – 4pm there will be a range of different things to try and excite, inspire and engage NHS staff.
Internal Innovation Offer:

We will share the current processes to get involved with the Innovation Team here at Alder Hey who can support you to problem solve and create solutions. Here you can meet the team, share your ideas and hear talks from those who’ve been through the innovation process before to understand some real life experiences.

We have a range of different workshops planned that will be delivered by one of our partners, the Innovation Agency. They will look at what Innovation means, hints, tips and ways to be innovative and offer general advice around how to problem solve.
Hands-on Activities:

We have different maker style activities such as 3D printers, Computer Aided Design, Coding and hands on crafting sessions for you to learn some new skills and have a go at trying out new things.

We have a big expo area where our Innovation partners, hospital suppliers and local organisations will show us some of their amazing innovations that currently support not only innovation in healthcare but also across other sectors. There will be things you’ve probably never seen before that we hope will inspire you to get creative and think about solutions for some of the problems that you may face day to day.
From 4pm – 7pm we move our focus to our amazing children and young people and their families to excite and inspire our future generation.
**Children MUST be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure you order at least 2 tickets**
Children’s Hackathon:

The highlight of the Festival will be lead by Accenture who will be running the hackathon. The aim is to teach and support children and young people in how to be innovative, what Innovation means and why it’s important. Spaces are limited for this. Make sure to follow us on @AlderHeyInc to find out how to book your space!
