Red Ninja

Red Ninja

Red Ninja is a design-led technology studio that uses design and collaboration to make a difference. When the company was founded in 2011, it wanted to work in the healthcare sector and to create digital health products, but didn’t have any practical connections or understanding of what the real challenges of the NHS and health needs of the nation were.

Health Innovation Exchange partner the Innovation Agency provided Red Ninja with knowledge and connections to clinicians. This allowed the company to begin creating the problem-solving digital health products they wanted to.

The studio is currently creating a digital health product that helps ambulances get to people who have a heart attack or a stroke within eight minutes. It works by controlling the traffic flows and traffic lights in a city. The project came about through an Innovation agency introduction to the North West Ambulance Service, with which Red Ninja collaborated to deliver the Innovate UK funded algorithm.

Red Ninja has since been introduced to national NHS partners, with its product being scaled and rolled out nationally. The firm has found other local companies to collaborate with as a result of the health ecosystem fostered by the Innovation Agency in the Liverpool City Region, as well as new partners in the NHS and council social care departments.
