Win 6 months free laboratory space at Sci-Tech Daresbury


Small R&D businesses with big ambitions could win free access to world-leading research facilities that will help them take their technology to the next level.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) are offering SME businesses within the health & life sciences or med tech sector a chance to win an exclusive six-month package of business support.

The successful business will not only receive free access to laboratory space at the award-winning Sci-Tech Daresbury campus for six months, but a host of other benefits, including:

  • Purchase of equipment up to £10k (T’s and C’s apply)
  • Free access to laboratory space at Daresbury for 6 months
  • A business support package consisting of business planning advice & investment readiness training
  • Free consultancy with Hitachi High Technology


Business from across the Liverpool City Region are invited to submit an application form outlining their requirements and how they believe the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) can support their business. The closing date for applications is Monday 5th February 2018.

Dependent on the businesses specific requirements, there are two types of laboratory facilities available:

  • Biology and microbiology labs, complete with Class II containment and high specification analytical equipment.
  • Chemistry and materials laboratories include a shared analytical laboratory for the high precision analysis of materials.


The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) will be hostings drop in events to allow candidates the opportunity to view the facilities at Daresbury, which will be held on the 18th January & 26th January 2018.
